First Project launched in Daxin County Chongzuo City Guangxi Province.

11 o’clock in the morning, the plane landed on the Guangxi Nanning Wuwei Airport. Shi Xiaolin, County Committee Member, head of Publicity department and Deputy County Chief, received the delegation at the airport. At the meeting, she excitedly said she was carrying the greeting and gratitude of the 370 thousand population of Daxin county. She thanked Minde for coming to Daxin with care and help for the left-behind children.
According to report, Guangxin has the most left-behind children in China. Only in Daxin, there are nearly 10 thousand of them. More than 50% are not living around their parents. They all need care and help on education, physical and psychological well-being.
It took 3 hours from Nanning to Daxin which is on the boarder to Vietnam. After arrival the publicity department and Mingde held a session on “care for left-behind children and build happy campus”. The County Education Department, Woman Federation and the Well-being of the Youth Committee joined the session.
The session was hosted by Shi Xiaolin, County Committee Member, head of Publicity department. Gu Meijun, vice president of Suzhou Good-Ark, president and secretary general of Mingde Foundation, explaned on the upcoming “Care for the Left-behind Children in Daxin County Project” to the relevant department of the county. The project consist of two part: first is to take care of the left-behind children in the county and to tend their psychological health. Mrs. Gu introduced the goal and the importance of happy campus and a variety of theme activities that will be planed in the future. The other part is to carry out traditional culture education in the county. Teachers learn first and then followed by their students and thus create a harmonious campus. The project will implement the eight modules of happy company and help the students grow up better.
On the session Mr. Wu Nianbo, initiator of Mingde Foundation, Chairman of Suzhou Good-Ark, elaborated how the two parties of People’s Daily Overseas Edition of American Journal joined Suzhou Good-Ark for Minde Foundation. He said Mingde’s goal is to focus on caring left-behind children so that they could study and live in a happy campus. Caring the left-behind children is not about providing material aid, Wu added, but extend the great love to every of them and their family. He believes that by the help of Mingde the Daxin Nation Hope Middle School, where there are most of the left-behind children, will become a campus full of humane care.
Representatives from Chinese teachers development foundation of Ministry of Education, the Well-being of the Youth Committee, County Education Department, Youth League Committee and Woman Federation also spoke about method and practice of caring and helping local left-behind children.
On the session the director of Tiandeng county Immigration Office Mrs. Luo Wei struck us with an impression. As a special guest of Daxin county this grass-roots cadres, who has been working on left-behind children issue since 2006, shed tears during her speech. Touched by her, Shi Xiaolin, County Committee Member, head of Publicity department, Deputy County Chief, was close to tears during her speech.
Luo Wei said, her work involves everyday contact with local people and she knew well about these left-behind children. She’s been appealing for improving the education and living environment. She’s thinking of these children all the time that she couldn’t sleep well. And now thanks to Mingde and Suzhou Good-Ark, she can have a tight sleep since tonight. Luo kept saying thanks with her eyes wet. “I finally make the left-behind children’s dream come true”, Luo said.
